Afternoon Ukulele Improvisation

I started playing the ukulele during Covid, when all concerts were canceled, and quickly fell in love with the instrument. There’s something about its playful, rich tone—the rhythm of just two simple chords—that feels hypnotic. It quiets the inner critic that so often holds me captive in the pursuit of perfection. Instead, the sound of the ukulele, paired with my body swaying to its rhythm, helps release whatever is inside. Something always comes. It may begin awkwardly, a little shy, but if I let myself find that river of vibration and sail with it… off I go, into something new.
